AVIONICS TECHNICIAN - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CAREER GUIDE |
| Hangar Technician 1. Experience / Training must meet one of the following: |
| • | Graduated from an accredited Avionics School | |
| • | Military training in avionics or electronics | |
| • | Associate degree or higher in electronics | |
| • | Eighteen months experience in the Avionics industry | |
| • | A&P certificate with previous Avionics experience | |
| 2. Must hold a FCC GROL license. If a FCC GROL license is not held at time of employment it must be obtained within six months from hire date. | ||
| 3. Must have completed Avionics line OJT training before working an independent shift. | ||
| 4. Must have acceptable skills to read and understand blueprints and schematics. | ||
| 5. Must possess basic Avionics skills. | ||
|
6. Must have a minimum toolbox. |

Bench Qualified Bench qualified technicians are eligible for the bench over-ride in base locations that have an approved Avionics Shop as part of the facility. To qualify the following minimum prerequisites must be met: 1. Preferred prerequisites |
| • | Graduated from an accredited Avionics School or, | |
| • | Military training in Avionics /Electronics or, | |
| • | Associate degree or higher in electronics and, | |
| • | Hold Qty 2 vendor level 3 equipment repair certificates and, | |
| • | 12 months Avionics bench repair experience and, | |
| • | Assigned an Avionics Bench Position. |
| 2. Alternate prerequisites |
| • | A& P & FCC GROL certificates with, | |
| • | Qty 2 vendor level 3 equipment repair certificates and, | |
| • | 12 months Avionics bench repair experience and, | |
| • | Provide evidence of knowledge in electronics fundamentals and, | |
| • | Assigned an Avionics Bench Position. |
