Chip Childs: CEO & President
Russell "Chip" Childs is President & CEO of SkyWest, Inc. He was named CEO and nominated to the board of directors in January 2016 and has served as President of the entity since 2014.
Chip has led SkyWest for over 20 years, as the company has become the largest E175 owner and operator and continued to serve as a vital connection for small and mid-size communities. Under Chip’s leadership, SkyWest has been named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity and Women, America’s Best Employers by Forbes, a Glassdoor Best Places to Work, and one of Fortune’s Most Admired Companies.
Chip joined SkyWest in 2001 as vice president – controller, and served as President and COO of SkyWest Airlines from 2007-2014.
Chip serves as Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, as the Intermountain Health Desert Region Board Vice Chair, Chair of the Regional Airline Association, and is the Chair of the NextGen Advisory Committee of the Federal Aviation Advisory Council. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and master's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University. He and his wife Jennifer have three sons and a daughter
